About author:
Binhan Sun is currently a profes-sor in School of Mechanical andPower Engineering of East ChinaUniversity of Science and Tech-nology (ECUST).He also servesas a guest researcher and anExternal Group Leader in Max-Planck-Institut fur Eisen-forschung (MPIE).He receivedhis PhD in 2018 from McGillUniversity and then worked inMPIE as an Alexander von Hum-boldt Research Fellow. His mainresearches focus on damage andfracture of metallic materials andtheir design to overcome some fundamental issues like hydrogen embrittlement and strength-ductility tradeoff. He has now published more than 50 peer-reviewed papers in well-reputed journals such as Nature, Nature Materials, PNAS, Science Advances, Acta Materialia and Scripta Materialia. In the meantime, he also serves as independent reviewer for more than 30 journals and youth editorial board member/guest editor for five SCI journals.
Hao Chen is an associate professor of Materials Science and Engineering at Tsinghua University, Beijing, China. He received his PhD degree with “Cum laude” at Delft University of Technology in 2013. He spent a year as postdoctoral fellow at University of British Columbia, Canada in 2014. He has published over 100 refereed papers in the well-known journals, such as Acta Materialia, Science Advance, Materials Science and Engineering R: Reports, etc. He delivered ~ 30 invited talks in the area of phase transformations and advanced high strength steels. He received the 2015 Aaronson award for his work in the field of phase transformations and the 2020 Tsinghua “New Rising Star” award. Dr. Chen serves as scientific editor or editorial board of Acta Metallugica Sinica (English Letters), Rare Metals, and Metallurgical and Materials Transaction A. He is a member of phase transformation committee of TMS and member of Chinese Materials Research Society for young scholar committee.
