About author:Lai-Chang Zhang is a Professor of Materials Engineering, the Program Leader-Mechanical Engineering and the Head of Centre for Advanced Materials and Manufacturing in the School of Engineering at Edith Cowan University (Perth, Australia). After awarded his PhD in Materials Science and Engineering at the Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Prof. Zhang held several positions at the University of Western Australian, University of Wollongong, IFW Dresden and Technical University Darmstadt. His research interests include metal additive manufacturing, metallic biomaterials, light-weight materials and structures, and high-strength materials. He is a 2023 Highly Cited Researcher in the field of Materials Science, and he has published about 360 referred journal articles, achieving H-index of 80 and 23,000+ citations. He also served as Editor or Editorial Board Members for more than 10 journals, such as International Journal of Extreme Manufacturing, Advanced Engineering Materials, Advanced Powder Materials, Acta Metallurgica Sinica (English Letters), Materials Science and Technology, Scientific Reports, and so on.
