Abstract: High boron bearing steel, in which boron homogeneously distributed, was successfullyproduced in the vacuum induction furnace. The microstructural observations of castand hot rolled steels showed that the addition of titanium can eliminate the quantity offerrous borides precipitated at the grain boundaries and break the net microstructure,as a result, its hot workability is improved. The titanium boride TiB2 homogeneouslydistributes in the matrix of α-Fe. The parameters of hot rolling process, includingpreheated temperature, initial rolling temperature, finished rolling temperature andthe total deformation, have been optimized.
